Fall River
Fall River is the mill city on Mount Hope Bay, built on granite hills above the water, with triple-deckers on the slopes. Garages are often single bays, alleys, or missing. Newer edges of the city have more conventional driveways. The hills are steep. A stuck door on a slope is a reason to stop using the opener.
No mill office is listed. Fall River sees bay damp and wind, plus ice on steep streets. A door at the bottom of a hill takes runoff. Salt reaches the lower neighborhoods. A gap in the coil, a loud pop, and a door that will not stay up are the signs we trust.
Photos can help, but the decision is made on site. We carry the work through: remove the failed spring, install the new one, balance, and run the door. Start with (781) 602-0737. Do not turn the opener on to demonstrate the failure. You will sometimes see a wider gap on one side as the door moves.
That is a reason to stop running it. We find the loose piece, set the door square, and write the figure before anything is taken apart. Cars stay out of the opening until the travel is clean.
