What the door is doing
Signs your door needs help
Most calls start with one of these. The link on each card is the service that matches that symptom. If none of them fits, describe the door on the phone and we will sort it out at the house.
Loud bang or a broken spring
A loud bang is often a torsion spring that let go, and the door can feel suddenly heavy afterward. Do not wind the spring yourself; a loaded spring stays with the technician.
Door stuck halfway or crooked
A door stuck halfway, or hanging lower on one side, is often a cable that snapped. Do not force the door up or down, and do not pull a cable back onto the drum.
Grinding or thumping rollers
A grind or a thump each time a panel passes is usually a roller that has flattened or seized. The wheels stay on the door until a technician matches them to the hinge and the track.
Off-track door
An off-track door has left the rails and may sit at an angle, rub, or refuse to move. Do not force it back onto the track, and leave the opener alone.
Opener clicks or hums, and the door will not move
A click or a hum with no travel can be the opener itself, or a door that has become too heavy for it. Stop pressing the button and let us see which one it is.

How a visit works
A garage door visit starts with a phone call, not a published price list. Work starts only after you have seen the written figure for the door that is actually there.
Call
Call (781) 602-0737. Have the town ready, and tell the story of the door: stuck open, stuck shut, or only noisy, plus anything you already know about the spring, the opener, or the track.
On-site look and a written estimate
On site we look at the door and write a free estimate before any work. The figure is for that door. Nothing is taken apart until you have it in writing.
Repair, balance check, and a full test
After the repair we check the balance and run a full open and close. The door should travel evenly, and the opener should not be dragging a heavy slab, before we leave.
Details that help, when you already know them, are one door or both, torsion or extension, belt or chain, and a dented panel versus the whole slab. You do not need the part name. At the house the technician names the failed part: the spring, the opener, a cable, a panel, or the whole door.

These are the jobs a normal call turns into. Springs and openers are repairs. A new door and a panel swap are the two ways a damaged slab is handled.
Springs
The spring is what lifts the slab. When it breaks, the opener is the wrong tool to keep using, because the door is suddenly the full weight. We replace the spring and balance the door so it stays easy to lift.
Openers
Opener work is diagnosis first, then repair, or a new belt or chain drive when the unit itself is finished. We decide that at the house, with the rail and the door in front of us.
New door installs
A new door is the job when the slab itself is done, not when a single section is dented. We measure the opening, install and adjust the door, and haul the old one away as part of that installation.
Panel replacement
A dented or cracked section can come out on its own when the rest of the door is still sound. If the surrounding door is too far gone, the estimate calls it a replacement instead of a panel.

Is the estimate free?
Yes. We look at the door on site and write the estimate before any work. We do not publish a price list, so the figure is for your door only.
Can you come the same day?
It depends on the schedule. Same-day service is offered when the day has room. Ask on the call if you need someone today, and we will tell you what the schedule can hold.
Which towns do you cover?
All of Massachusetts. We come to every town in the state. Walpole, Stoughton, Foxborough, Canton, and Boston are the five named on the original listing, not the edge of the map.
Do you warranty the door?
Doors are sold and repaired with a full warranty. What that warranty covers is explained with the estimate for your door.
Are you licensed?
Yes. We are licensed and bonded. We do not print a license number on the site.
