Newton
Newton is the city of villages, from Newton Corner and Nonantum to West Newton, Newton Centre, and Chestnut Hill, between Boston, Brookline, Waltham, and Needham. Nonantum and Newton Corner are tighter and older. West Newton and Newton Centre have larger houses and attached garages. Some carriage bays remain.
Lots are not rural. An older carriage bay and a two-car door in a later neighborhood are different estimates. Close-in winter, tree cover, freeze-thaw. The Charles edge stays damp. Snow left on the sections adds weight a tired spring cannot lift. After a storm the door may sit crooked or refuse to stay open.
Leave it alone if you heard a bang. We put on a spring matched to the door, not a guess from a phone description, and we balance it on site. Color, windows, and insulation are choices we can price after the opening is measured. We do not print an energy rating as a promise.
A door that still seals and travels does not have to be replaced. We will say when the sections are finished and a new door is the honest job. Call (781) 602-0737 to book directly.
