A side-mounted opener for bays that do not have room for a ceiling rail.
Some openings have no space above the door for a rail. Older carriage bays, basement garages under a raised ranch, and tight city bays are the usual reasons. A wall-mount, or side-mounted, opener is the hardware people ask about in that situation. We do not claim a particular model is stocked.
The door still has to be balanced. A side-mounted motor on a door with a broken spring is not a solution. Springs are repaired first. The technician also has to see whether the side wall is clear and whether the door's existing hardware can take that drive.
Measuring is part of the visit. Belt and chain drives are the overhead styles. We keep this note so low-headroom jobs are not forced into that description.
Call for a free estimate. Low headroom is common on raised ranches and in mill-city bays.
The estimate names the unit after we see the bay. Call (781) 602-0737 and describe the opening.
Side clearance and the door's hardware decide it. That is an on-site look.
