Hingham has a historic harbor and downtown, plus inland neighborhoods toward Norwell and Weymouth. The harbor and the older center have tighter lots and older houses. Inland Hingham has larger colonials and attached two-car doors. Both are one town. Salt and low headroom in an older bay are useful details.
No Hingham shipyard office is listed. Harbor streets take salt and wind. Inland streets take snow under trees. A door near the bathhouse road is not the same as one on a cul-de-sac. A cracked bottom fixture is changed along with the cable end that pulls against it.
The door stays unused until both pieces are on. A door that sits uneven at the floor, high on one side, can be a track problem. We check the rails before the spring. The rail must be fastened to solid framing. We will not hang a new unit from drywall or from a loose board.
