Norfolk County
Cohasset is the rocky outer edge of Norfolk County on the coast, between Hingham and Scituate, with a harbor rather than a mill river. Cohasset has houses range from older village homes near the common to larger shore properties. Garages may be detached, and some sit close enough to the water that hardware lives in salt air all year.
A spring or roller failure on a shore lot is not the same conversation as a dry inland colonial. The visit is still by phone, not a harbor office. Salt, fog, and winter storms off the bay are the local weather story. Inland freeze-thaw still happens, but corrosion shows up here faster than in Walpole.
A bang overhead is the signal to stop using the door. The replacement spring is matched to the door in front of us. The stop molding is reset if the door is hitting it. That is a small adjustment after the rollers are in. A wall control that has failed its lock light is replaced as a small part when the motor itself is sound.
