Berkshire County
Richmond is the small town west of Lenox and Pittsfield, on the way to the New York line. A residential two-car door is plausible here, unlike a hill hamlet. Richmond sees valley-edge snow and wind across open ground. Ice at a threshold on a west-facing lot is the winter complaint.
A bang overhead is the signal to stop using the door. The replacement spring is matched to the door in front of us. Loose center hinges let the sections separate. We fasten them and then run the door to see that the joints stay closed. We match a replacement opener to the door weight we just balanced, not to a default from the box.
