The drive type is something you can often see without opening the housing. Service on a brand is not a factory relationship.
In short. The drive type is something you can often see without opening the housing. Service on a brand is not a factory relationship.
A chain drive is the noisier trolley with a chain. A belt is quieter and looks like a strap. A screw drive uses a threaded rod. A wall-mount operator sits on the wall beside the door instead of in the center of the ceiling. Naming the one you have helps the truck. Guessing a model number does not.
LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie are common badges. Clopay, Wayne Dalton, and Amarr are more often door names than operator names, though badges vary. We service doors and operators that carry those names. We are not an authorized dealer for any of them.
Replacing an operator is a different estimate from repairing the one in place. No feature matrix with prices is printed.
The one that fits the headroom, the door weight, and the noise you care about. That is decided at the house.
