A seal frozen to the apron is a winter call. Prying the door loose is not advice we give.
In short. A seal frozen to the apron is a winter call. Prying the door loose is not advice we give.
After a thaw and a night freeze, the rubber at the bottom of the door can stick to the concrete. The operator may strain, or the door may rise an inch and stop. That is a description to give on the phone, not a cue to chip ice out from under a moving door.
Those details help the visit. They do not produce a price. A torn seal and a block of ice are different jobs, and both can be present.
Hill towns, shaded aprons, and doors that face north hold ice longer than a sunny street.
Leave the seal alone. Call (781) 602-0737 and describe the ice.
A spring failure usually makes the door heavy. A frozen seal keeps a door from starting.
