In short. Turn the opener off and call. Do not push the door back into the track. A bent rail or a failed roller is a technician visit.
An off-track door is crooked, rubbing, or sitting out of the rail on one side. Running the opener to force it back bends the track, tears a roller, or drops the door. Keep people away.
The cause may be a worn roller, a broken cable, a hinge that pulled out, or a rail that was already bent. Those are different repairs that often show up together. Cable and track repair, and putting a door back on the rails, are the visits. This note only covers the decision to stop.
Securing the opening is the emergency offer. Same-day service depends on the schedule.
MassGarage is family owned, with 25 years in the trade. Elad is a technician on our crew. wrote that he fixed a snapped cable. This note is general information. It is not a license and not a repair procedure.
That is how tracks get bent.
Not always. A spring can lead to a crooked door, and a roller can jump with the spring intact. The technician sorts that out.
