In short. Width changes the springs, the operator, and the time on site. A guess from the curb is not a measurement.
A single door and a double door are different openings even when they sit on the same house. The wider door is heavier, the springs are matched to that weight, and the operator has more to pull. Saying 'double' or 'single' in ordinary words is enough to start. The tape measure happens at the house.
Older houses often keep a single bay that was built for a smaller car. Later additions sometimes add a double door beside it. Do not let the working door stand in for the broken one.
Custom height is separate from width. A tall opening is not a stock door just because it is a single. Call about a tall or short opening.
Single or double, plus anything odd about the height, is enough for the call.
Describe what you have. One operator for two doors is not a usual setup.
